Saigon Bay Restaurant serves up a winning gastronomic combination

When it comes to fine and well-priced Vietnamese and Asian dining, few go past the Saigon Bay Restaurant located at 249 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst.

For more than 15 years, ever since the restaurant opened in 1993, loyal customers have been coming back time and time again to enjoy Saigon Bay's exotic but traditional menu of more than 120 dishes, prepared under the direction of head chef Thai Hung Nguyen.

Now, to provide greater convenience to its customers, Saigon Bay has taken a step into the online age with the launch of a web-based ordering system that allows customers to order their favourite dishes and have them home or office delivered.

Saigon Bay is currently running a number of special promotions for customers ordering for home or office delivery online, including a 10% discount on their order over the next three months.

"Our restaurant is very well established and we still have many regular, loyal customers who enjoying coming into our restaurant for lunch or dinner every week," says Saigon Bay Restaurant co-owner Hoang Tran.

"However, there are a lot of people with internet access, especially younger people, who are keen to order and pay for their food online and then have it delivered directly to their home. We recently upgraded our website at http://www.saigonbay.com.au/ so customers can easily select from our extensive menu and pay online, and we will then home deliver to surrounding areas."

Mr Tran says customers are also using the website to book their tables online, with Saigon Bay open Monday to Friday for lunch and seven days for dinner.

"Dining in our restaurant is still very popular as we can seat up to 120 people over two floors," he explains. Saigon Bay also has a corporate banquet special at $30 per person, which includes a free dessert worth $5-$6 per person. This is equal to a 20% saving. In addition, dine-in customers who eat before 7pm receive a 10% discount off the bill.

The restaurant also does catering and delivery for home and office parties, such as functions and birthdays.

"We often cater for events such as birthdays as well as corporate functions, but we also have a lot of regulars including customers who used to live locally that have moved interstate, and who visit us whenever they come to Sydney. Our customers appreciate our food and service, and we are very proud of our good reputation."

With its extensive menu for both dine-in and take-away customers, Saigon Bay is well positioned for further growth.
